♡ Melissa
Melissa is the type of therapist who claims, "‘I’m not the fluffy’ therapist but I am your biggest cheerleader”. She is not the therapist who will use fancy clinical terms, but instead analogies that will allow you to better comprehend what she is trying to convey, while also making you laugh. Melissa is a big user of sarcasm and humor in her sessions but will still be empathetic and knows when her clients may need a laugh. Melissa works with many first responders and families in the community as she has a personal motivation to keep our heroes healthy. She has a direct client focused style and find major purpose in helping people find their worth!
Melissa is very passionate about working with trauma, PTSD and specialize in narcissistic abuse (education, not how to be narcissistic)- including processing divorce. She works hard to create a super safe space for her clients to do some real tough work so that helps them live a healthier and more present life! Melissa uses a variety of different styles including CBT, DBT, and mindfulness..
Melissa also has a background in geriatric care, including starting dementia programs and working with hospice/ palliative care. She has worked within long term care for over 12 years and volunteered with the Alzheimer's association to run support groups for families.
